Overview

You'll help build and improve Gallagher Re’s financial modelling platform. It uses Java, JEE, Postgres, and Azure. You'll work with colleagues in Mumbai, Bangalore, Ipswich, and London, so clear communication matters. This role suits someone who likes solving real problems, working across teams, and building software that stays reliable as needs change.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You'll work across the full development cycle, from building new features to supporting live systems. You’ll write clean code, check it against the agreed design, and help keep the platform secure, stable, and fast.

You’ll also work with backend colleagues on APIs and data flow, join code reviews, and help solve production issues. When needed, you’ll support end users and look at better ways to build, test, deploy, and maintain the product.

About You

Here's what you'll bring to the role:

• You can build web apps using Angular 16+.
• You know TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• You’ve used NgRx signals, or a similar state management approach.
• You can work with Angular Material and SCSS.
• You can write and support code in Java or JEE.
• You can work with Postgres and understand how data moves through a system.
• You can integrate APIs and spot issues early.
• You can explain your thinking clearly in writing and in meetings.
• You’re comfortable working with light direction and across locations.
• You solve problems calmly and keep an eye on reliability.
• Minimum 60% throughout academics – no gaps.
• A degree in computer science, IT, or a related subject can help, but we’ll also consider relevant hands-on experience.

Qualifications:

• University Degree and 3 to 5 years prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
