Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Assistant Manager for Strategic Sourcing to lead procurement initiatives for electronics and manufacturing commodities. The role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and mitigating supply risks across global operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for assigned electronics and manufacturing commodities
Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers meeting quality, cost, delivery, and technology requirements
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFQ/RFP management, negotiations, and contract execution
Drive cost reduction initiatives through should-cost analysis, value engineering, and design-to-cost programs
Partner with engineering and NPI teams to support product launches and supplier transitions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business administration, or related field
3–5 years strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement experience in electronics or manufacturing
Strong sourcing expertise with EMS suppliers, PCBA, electronic components, and assemblies
Demonstrated supplier qualification, development, and strategic relationship management experience
Proficiency in commercial negotiations, contract management, and total cost of ownership analysis
Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, PCB assembly, machining, and molding technologies
Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
