Position: Assistant Manager / Manager – NPI Engineering

Location: Cochin

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Experience: 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Electronics Manufacturing / PCBA / NPI Engineering, with demonstrated experience in leading NPI projects and teams. Strong experience in an EMS / Electronics Manufacturing environment is preferred.

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – NPI Engineering to manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from product development and prototype builds through pilot production and mass production. The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of electronics manufacturing, PCBA, SMT, through-hole assembly, box build, DFM/DFT, and process engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end NPI projects, including prototype builds, validation, pilot production, and mass-production launch.
- Review BOMs, Gerber files, engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct DFM/DFT reviews and establish manufacturing processes for SMT, PCBA, through-hole assembly, and box build.
- Coordinate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely product launches.
- Manage first-article builds, process validation, production readiness, and issue resolution.
- Ensure BOM accuracy, engineering change management, and documentation control.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, yield improvement, and cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and applicable quality standards.
- Lead and develop the NPI/Process Engineering team.
- Monitor project timelines, quality, yield, cost, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience in SMT, through-hole assembly, PCBA, and box build.
- Experience in DFM/DFT, PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of BOM management, ECOs, ERP/MRP systems, and engineering documentation.
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 and electronics manufacturing quality requirements.
- Experience managing NPI projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong customer communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Team leadership experience is preferred.
