Analytics Associate (Analyst)
Level: 0–2 years' experience Location: Gurgaon/ Pune

Blue Matter Consulting is a rapidly growing management consultancy focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. We partner with life sciences companies to help commercialize therapies that extend and improve human life — by driving clarity and confidence in data driven decision-making
We operate across eight global offices (Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Zurich, London, Berlin, New York, San Francisco) with an entrepreneurial culture built on curiosity, integrity, and collective excellence.

Our Core Values — The Foundation of How We Work

At Blue Matter Insights values are the operating system behind every deliverable, every client conversation, and every promotion decision.

Speak the TRUTH — "True to the data; true to the client"
We let the data lead. Our recommendations are grounded in evidence, and when analysis contradicts expectations, we say so with clarity and respect.

Solve for SO WHAT — "Be the client, own the impact"
Every analysis we deliver connects to a real business need. We dig past the technical ask to understand the underlying question — and hold ourselves to delivering meaningful impact, not just outputs.

Stay CURIOUS — "Dig deeper, see further to innovate"
Curiosity is our superpower. We ask 'why' continuously, build T-shaped expertise across data, analytics, and business context, and embrace new tools and methods to solve old problems in better ways.

Win TOGETHER — "Individually experts; collectively transformative"
We encourage every voice regardless of level, hold each other accountable, and step up when it counts — across time zones and across teams.

The Role
As an Analytics Associate at Blue Matter, you will work alongside consultants to tackle critical commercial challenges in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. This is not a 'number-crunching' role - we expect you to Stay Curious about the business context behind every dataset, Solve for So What in every output you produce, and Win Together with a globally distributed team from day one.

What You'll Do
Your day-to-day will span the full analytics value chain - from raw data to boardroom-ready insights. Concretely, you will:
Learn deeply and question continuously

Research therapy areas, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics to know more than the client in their own domain.
Deep-dive into data anomalies to understand the reason behind the ripple - never stop at the surface.
Actively seek out new analytical tools, AI-driven methodologies, and approaches to bring fresh thinking to familiar problems.

Let the data lead

Analyze complex, multi-source datasets and extract insights that are grounded in evidence, not assumptions.
Present findings that challenge the client's internal hypothesis when the data calls for it - with clarity, confidence, and respect.
Own your mistakes: when something goes wrong, flag it immediately and work collaboratively to fix it.

Go beyond the ask

Translate analytical outputs into clear, actionable business recommendations - every chart needs a 'So What?'
Build visually compelling, insight-driven deliverables (dashboards, models, slides) that clients actually use.
Understand the 'Why' behind each project request, not just the 'What', to ensure every analysis connects to a real business need.

Be a great teammate

Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore team members - seek to understand both the data and the market, not just your slice.
Contribute actively in internal reviews and invite feedback from peers and senior colleagues alike.
Step in to support teammates when deadlines are tight, regardless of whose name is on the deliverable.

What You'll Bring
Required

0–2 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field (internships and academic projects count).
Solid foundation in at least one analytical tool: SQL, Python, R, Excel, or Alteryx.
Strong analytical thinking — you naturally ask 'why' and 'so what?' when you see data.
Ability to communicate complex findings clearly, both in writing and visually (PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI or similar).
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global, cross-functional teams.

Preferred

Exposure to the US pharmaceutical or life sciences market.
Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
BE/BTech/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
MTech/MS (Statistics or Data Science) is a plus.

What Success Looks Like in This Role
A strong Analytics Associate at BMI will:

Independently own analytical modules on live client projects and deliver them on time with clear 'So What?' takeaways
Ask the right questions before diving into data - understanding business context before building models
Proactively flag data quality issues or unexpected findings rather than waiting to be asked.
Be described by teammates as someone who steps up, communicates clearly, and makes the team stronger.
